Hey there,
Imagine a gardener discovering a tiny seed just beginning to sprout in the soil. Though small and seemingly fragile, the gardener tends it carefully, knowing that with time, care, and sunlight, it could grow into a strong, fruitful tree. In much the same way, every unborn child is a life full of potential, deserving protection, care, and prayer.
January 22 is the day the Catholic Church designates as the Day of Prayer for the Legal Protection of Unborn Children. To prepare our hearts, the U.S. Bishops invite the faithful to join the “9 Days for Life” Novena, beginning this Friday, January 16. This novena offers daily prayers and reflections for unborn children, mothers, families, and all who work to protect life, helping us lift our voices in defense of those who cannot speak for themselves.
This week’s issue of Genuflect provides ways to pray, reflect, and act to uphold the dignity of every human life. May they inspire you to join in prayer and advocacy, trusting that God can bring life, hope, and growth through our intercession.
