Hey there,
“The devil made me do it.”
“The devil is in the details.”
“Play devil’s advocate.”
These are just a few of our popular phrases.
We have songs about the devil … movies and shows. He’s all over the place.
And the reality is, he IS all over the place … embedded throughout our culture … tempting us all the time. His goal is to turn us away from God.
And now that our Lenten journey has begun, you may have already experienced some interference from the devil … I know I have!
But the good news is that God is on our side and He’s all we need to defeat the devil. We just need to have a better understanding and recognition of what Satan is up to.
This week’s issue of Genuflect is here to help you defeat the devil. We look at how he came to be, when we’re most vulnerable to his attacks, how to conquer him, the Pope’s advice, how Saints defeated him, and how exorcisms are on the rise.
So the phrase you’ll be saying is, “Get behind me, Satan!”
