Hey there,
We see evil all around us every day.
But what causes evil?
Is the devil real?
If God created everything, then why did He create the devil?
Why does God let the devil roam the Earth?
These are just a few of the typical questions that come up when discussions turn to evil in our world.
The Catholic Church tells us that satan does exist. But the good news is that God is more powerful.
In “The Art of War,” by Chinese strategist and general Sun Tzu, he famously stated, “If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles.”
So this week, Genuflect is getting to know more about our enemy, the devil … aka satan. And answering a lot of these questions about his existence, his origin, and his power.
But before we get to that, check out this broadcast from 1965 by the famous radio host Paul Harvey entitled, “If I were the devil.” It will really open your eyes to the devil at work in our world today.

Is The Devil Real?
The Catholic Church and Pope Francis say yes. But “research data published by the Center for Research on the Apostolate (CARA) at Georgetown University reveals that Catholics are among the least likely to agree that Satan is a ‘living being.’” And unfortunately, the result seems to be a decline in sacramental participation.
