Hey there,
We all need a little help from time to time.
We ask people for advice (though we rarely take it). We make a list of pros and cons. We pray to God … or for the intercession of a Saint.
Remember the game show “Who Wants to be a Millionaire?” They gave contestants a lifeline where they could phone a friend for help with a question.
If you’re like me, you may not be calling on the one particular person who can be the greatest help in our time of need.
It’s the one person the Lord gave us who is always with us. Always available to provide guidance.
We only need to call on Him.
I’m speaking, of course, of the Holy Spirit. The third person of the Blessed Trinity.
This week’s issue of Genuflect seeks to help us invoke the Holy Spirit more. We look at where it all began at Pentecost, what the Holy Spirit is, names of the Holy Spirit, how to communicate with Him, when to call on Him, how to pray for the 7 gifts of the Holy Spirit, and more!
On Sunday we celebrate Pentecost … when the Holy Spirit descended upon the apostles.
It represents the end of the Easter season … the birth of the Catholic Church … and is a reminder of the Holy Spirit’s presence in us too.
So next time you’re in need of help, don’t forget to call “Come, Holy Spirit!”
