Hey there,
Like it or not, instruction manuals are important … even if we don’t want to read them when putting together that piece of furniture from IKEA.
Or how about all the rules we had to learn to get a driver’s license? The rules of the road are necessary to keep us safe.
I’m old enough to remember when you had to look at a paper map to get directions to your destination before you left your house.
The smart ones kept a map in the glove box in case of emergency. You just hoped you didn’t have to use it … and then try to get it folded neatly back again.
Nowadays it’s easy to tell Siri or Alexa where you want to go … and it will guide you step-by-step along the path.
Following the rules of the road and a navigation system can get you wherever you need to go.
In a similar way, God has equipped us with what we need to get to heaven. First He gave us the instructions of the Ten Commandments, and then he provided the navigation … the path to follow … which is found in the Beatitudes.
We covered the Ten Commandments back in January. This week we map out the Beatitudes, so we’ll more fully understand how we should navigate our life towards our afterlife in heaven.
