Hey there,
I live in Texas where summers are long and hot with days often reaching 100+ degrees Fahrenheit.
It can be unbearable. We Texans hope for Autumn to arrive to bring relief.
It’s hard to describe the feeling you get the first day when the high temperature dips down to 85 degrees and the night is a low of 65 degrees.
You have a little more pep in your step. Fortunately, we’ve just reached this point.
You feel renewed and reborn.
To me, this sounds like the opportunity we Catholics will have soon when Pope Francis opens up the Holy Year Jubilee 2025 in December with the overarching theme of hope.
It’s “an opportunity for us to be renewed in hope … as we await with confidence the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and glory, now and forever.”
This week’s issue of Genuflect is about the history of Jubilees in the Catholic Church. How they began, their biblical reference, Holy Years throughout history, and all about the coming Jubilee 2025.
Whether you make a pilgrimage to Rome, or participate in your local community, Jubilee 2025 offers each of us a spiritual renewal of hope. To be renewed with a little more pep in our Catholic step.
Keep Believing-
