Hey there,
We often hear that to grow in our faith, we should pray every day, go to church every Sunday, and read the Holy Scriptures.
But what we don’t hear is that we should read the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
The Catechism, or CCC as it’s referred to, is the compilation of the beliefs of our Catholic faith. It’s what Priests and Deacons reference for their homilies. And it’s what catechists use for their instruction.
Last Christmas, my husband gave me a printed copy of the CCC. It’s been a great reference for Genuflect. It’s mind boggling how much information is covered, cross referenced, and defined in one book!
And it can also be a great resource for you too. So you can continue to learn more about Catholicism and grow closer to God.
This week’s issue of Genuflect goes to school on the Catechism of the Catholic Church. What it is, how it evolved, how it’s used, where to find it, and an exciting announcement from Father Mike Schmitz about his next big podcast.
Spoiler alert … it’s about the CCC!
