Hey there,
The question is asked.
“Is there anything more beautiful in life than a boy and a girl clasping clean hands and pure hearts in the path of marriage? Can there be anything more beautiful than young love?”
And the answer is given.
“Yes there is a more beautiful thing. It is an old man and an old woman finishing their life’s journey together on that path. Their hands are gnarled, but still clasped; their faces are wrinkled but still radiant; their hearts are physically bowed and tired, but still strong with love and devotion for one another.
Yes there is a more beautiful thing than young love.
Old love.”

We encounter trials and temptations every day. And for those who are married, or in a committed relationship, the challenges are multiplied. It takes two special people who work very hard and persevere to achieve old love.
It’s been 7 weeks since we began our journey into the Ten Commandments. And what a coincidence that this week, when we also celebrate St. Valentine’s Day in the U.S., we arrive at the Sixth Commandment. Adultery.
It’s a sin when you do it … and when you think about it.
Here, Genuflect uncovers the Catholic Church’s stance on adultery, including the physical sin, but also, other aspects of the sin that we may commit without realizing it. We look at ways to seek God’s forgiveness and overcome the sin of adultery.
So we can work to achieve old love on earth… and eternal life in heaven with our Lord.
