Hey there,
God loves each one of us. So much so, that He sent His only son, Jesus Christ to walk among us.
To teach us the importance of love.
To show us how to love.
And out of love, to pay the ultimate price … for our salvation.
Over the course of Lent we have an opportunity to join Jesus on His journey to Calvary.
To walk with Him.
To walk with love.
Love that we show to Him through prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. But also, love for others around us … just like Jesus.
It seems fitting that Ash Wednesday was on Saint Valentine’s Day. The universal day we celebrate love was the same day we kicked off the Lenten season … the greatest display of love in history.
This week’s issue of Genuflect delves into the meaning of love in our Lenten journey. So we can learn to love as God loves us … now and beyond Lent.
