About The Novena to Saint Augustine of Hippo
Saint Augustine was born in 354 and died in 430 A.D. He was one of the four original Latin Doctors of the Church and is the patron saint of searchers, brewers, printers, theologians, and against tired eyes.
Saint Augustine’s mother was Saint Monica who prayed incessently for her son who lived a life of sin. Her prayers were answered when he eventually converted and was baptised on Easter 387 A.D. Saint Augustine went on to become one of our most prominant defenders of the faith and prolific writers. He became a priest and the Bishop of Hippo, and he founded the Order of Saint Augustine.
