Hey there and welcome to the inaugural issue of Genuflect.
This project is just beginning and though it’s a small step, I pray that you’ll enjoy it each week and we’ll both do great things.
Genuflect’s mission is to 1) help you deepen your relationship with God, 2) live the Catholic life you desire, and 3) equip Catholics everywhere to go out into the world and share their faith.
We’ll cover topics like Catholic Doctrine, Prayer, Saints, The Pope, and Catholicism.
This week’s selections provide opportunities for new beginnings to grow deeper in your Catholic faith in a number of areas:
- Death Penalty doctrine
Some light hearted topics are included as well, and you’ll also find an insightful article for coping with the disturbing events that are all over the news and top of mind right now.
If you enjoy Genuflect, please be sure to share it with your friends!
Keep Believing –
Though college is a great adventure, it also can bring lots of new challenges … confusion, temptation, frustration, and self-doubt. Send your kid off to college with the patron saints who can accompany them on this journey and provide guidance.
Many people have succeeded in happiness by following the simple yet magnificent advice that the Bible offers. Here’s a list of worthwhile biblical guidelines to follow in the pursuit of happiness.
When Pope Francis kissed a little girl’s forehead on his visit to Philadelphia in 2015, little did he know she was battling a brain tumor. And no one expected the miraculous recovery that would follow.
Get More Out of Mass
“Full, active, and conscious participation” is key to getting the most out of the Mass. These 3 skills will guarantee that you continually benefit from your time with Christ in the liturgy.
There’s no doubt about it: veiling in church is making a comeback! While chapel-veiling is no longer required by the Church, many women, both young and old, are opting to do so throughout the Catholic community.
Worldwide Ban on the Death Penalty
No longer does the Catholic Church allow for the possibility that the death penalty may be legitimately imposed.
The Elephant in the Catholic Room
More Catholic scandals have come to light. How do we keep the faith amid such betrayal? How do we talk to our kids about this? Here’s what you need to know.
We assume Catholicism is European in its essence, and that black people are Protestants. But the majority of black Christians in the Western hemisphere are actually Catholic, and the majority of Catholics in the Western hemisphere and the Americas are not white.
Prayers in Your Pocket
Whether it’s Catholic news, prayers, or community, download an app or two to your iPhone or Android and you’ll always have the Catholic resources you need in your pocket.
For the first time, Google honored a Catholic Priest with a Doodle on July 17, 2018. Check out the doodle and learn why Father Lemaître was so deserving.
