Hey there,
In our on-going effort to get to heaven, we are blessed to have the lives of various Saints to serve as examples.
As teachers of how to live a holy life.
On October 22nd we celebrated one such Saint: Pope John Paul II.
One might ask what we can learn from Pope John Paul II. After all, he was the Pope … the leader of the Catholic Church.
And we’re … well, let’s just say we’re not.
But there are lessons to learn from JPII throughout his life.
Like the time he shocked the world by visiting the man who shot him to offer forgiveness.
There’s the emphasis he placed on evangelization … and asking us to do the same.
And there’s even a lesson to be learned in his death.
This week’s issue of Genuflect delves into the life and death of Saint Pope John Paul II, who some are already calling The Great.

Traveling Pope
Pope John Paul II was one of the most popular popes. Perhaps a contributing factor was his outreach around the world. The trips he took and the number of people he saw was staggering, setting the stage for popes who followed him to travel to more places.

JPII’s Miracle Parkinson’s Cure
John Paul II announced in 2003 he had Parkinson’s disease, which began a very public decline over the course of the next two years until his death. So it may not be a surprise that one of the miracles attributed to JPII was the complete healing of Sr. Marie Simon-Pierre of Parkinson’s. Here’s the full story.
