Hey there,
Monday, October 7th has been designated as the first World Rosary Day. It coincides with the month of October that is dedicated to the Holy Rosary and October 7th, which is the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary.
“The event is a response to the request of Pope Francis in his letter to Archbishop Rino Fisichella for the Jubilee 2025, to ‘dedicate the year preceding the Jubilee event, 2024, to a great ‘symphony’ of prayer,’ with petitions directed ‘to the Virgin Mary to accompany the Church on the path of preparation for the event of grace of the Jubilee.’”
What is really cool is that at 7:00pm all around the world, Catholics will pray the Holy Rosary. It will begin in New Zealand at Saint Mary’s, Pukekaraka, with Father Phil Cody reciting the Rosary in the Maori language together with his parishioners.
And then as local clocks strike 7:00pm around the world, others will recite the Holy Rosary. So, whether you haven’t prayed the Rosary in a while, or if you pray it daily, on Monday, October 7th at 7:00pm, you can join Catholics from all walks of life, praying the Holy Rosary.
In preparation for next week’s world-wide Marian event, Genuflect brings together all the resources we’ve gathered over the years about the Holy Rosary, its origins, the promises from Mary for those who recite it, how it conquers evil, the Glorious, Joyful, Sorrowful, and Luminous Mysteries, and so much more.
So please enjoy this deep dive into the beauty and history of the Holy Rosary and mark your calendar now to recite the Rosary on Monday, October 7th at 7:00pm, wherever you are.
Keep Believing-
